The environmental policy of I.C.M. S.P.A.
ICM carries out its activities with particular attention to the environmental sustainability of the production processes in respect of the environment and the community in which it operates with the aim of continuously reducing the environmental impact of its activities.
Since 2013 it has implemented an Environmental Management System compliant with the standards which has allowed it to obtain certification according to the UNI EN ISO 14001:2004 standards and to obtain EMAS registration based on EC regulation n.1221/2009, as a concrete demonstration of the commitment of the entire company organization towards the protection of the territory in which the company operates.
ISO 14001 certification
The UNI EN ISO 14001 standard is recognized as a standard for the certification of the Environmental Management System. It is based on the “Plan-Do-Check-Act” methodology and provides a systematic framework for the integration of practices to protect the environment, preventing pollution, reducing the amount of waste, energy consumption and the quantity of materials used.
Since 2013 ICM has obtained the ISO 14001 certification for compliance with the standards established by the legislation and maintenance of the same over time.
EMAS registration
ICM has implemented an Environmental Management System compliant with both the UNI EN ISO 14001:2004 standard and with the EC regulation n.1221/2009 (EMAS) as a concrete demonstration of the commitment of the entire company organization towards the protection of the territory in which the company operates.
Within this environmental management system, the methods adopted for the identification of environmental aspects and the assessment of their significance are defined in a timely manner, in order to ensure supervision of compliance with the applicable legislation and define objectives that allow the pursuit of the continuous improvement of environmental performance.
Compliance with the Environmental Management System and the reference regulations allowed ICM to obtain EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) registration in 2014, issued following the validation of the Environmental Declaration by the accredited environmental verifier and ARPA checks FVG.
FSC® product certification
To give a better service to its customers, I.C.M. S.P.A. since 2016 it has been able to supply, upon specific request, FSC certified products (FSC C129467).
FSC (FOREST STEWARDSHIP COUNCIL®) is an international non-governmental and non-profit organization established in 1993 to promote sustainable forest management from an environmental, social and economic point of view. Among the members of the FSC are environmental associations, indigenous communities, research institutes, forestry communities, companies that work and trade wood that work together to promote worldwide management of forests and plantations that protect the natural environment, which is beneficial to workers and indigenous peoples and which is economically viable.
FSC has therefore created a product certification and labeling scheme in order to guarantee the final consumer that the purchased product comes from FSC certified forests.
The guarantee of the origin of the certified material is given by the fact that both the forests of FSC origin and the companies involved in the processing and marketing of the products from these forests (from the purchase of timber directly from the certified forest to the sale of the finished product, passing through all the intermediate processes) are controlled and evaluated independently by accredited certification bodies which control their work in compliance with the defined standards.
