Award-giving during the “Production of renewable energy in the wood-furniture sector” convention
Thanks to the company’s innovative system for the cogeneration of electricity, in 2012 ICM received the GBE FACTORY AWARD within the international “GBW Factory: the second generation of industrial and commercial buildings. Renewable sources in favour of competitiveness and of the environment” project that promotes and rewards the virtuous companies that have made investments to produce energy.
The award was given during the “Production of renewable energy in the wood-furniture sector” convention organised by the "Unioncamere” (Italian Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Handicraft and Agriculture) of the Veneto region, in collaboration with the “Unione Industriale Pordenone”, “Pordenone Energia” and “ADSI Distretto del mobile Livenza” organisations.
ICM’s new system uses all the wood dust from the factory’s production for the cogeneration of electricity. This is possible thanks to ORC turbines and to a hi-tech furnace that generates the combustion of all the wood dust produced and reduces the need to dispose of waste materials outside the factory.
ICM’s goal for the next few years is to use all of its (X MEMORIA) wood dust for the cogeneration of electricity, i.e. to triple the quantity of wood dust used compared to 2010, thus becoming a Zero carbon emission company.
